How to tell if your oil is hot and ready for deep-frying:
Heat oil for a minute or two and then place the end of a wooden chopstick or wooden spoon so that it touches the bottom of the pan. If small bubbles form and roll up quickly, your oil is ready. If they are not rolling off just yet, give it a little more time and check again.
Or in my “That Girl”-case, I cranked up the heat to my fabulous Waring Pro DF55 Professional Mini Deep Fryer to 375°F. Well, that was easy. ;)
